Disappointing performance,
by sunchan05, 2008-01-23
I used this for a couple of different things.
1. To top up the air in a car tire. It took a long time (over 2 mins) to go from 25psi to 34psi.
2. To fill a medium size inflatable toy. This took over 10 minutes.
The things that I liked about this compressor:
1. Compact size
2. Price
Cons:
1. Extremely noisy and it vibrates a lot, causing it to move on the road due to the vibration.
2. Very slow performance (see results above)
3. Tube is really short - about 18 inches. My car has 18" wheels and with the tire nozel at the position highest off the road, the tube barely reached.
4. Only works on 12v. Would be nice if it worked on AC power as well.
5. The pressure guage is not too accurate, but merely an approximation.
I guess you get what you pay for, but due to the number of cons, this one is going back. I am surprised that AAA would lend their name to such a sub-standard product.
Patience Required,
by Robert E. Henkin, 2008-07-20
With gas stations charging for air I opted to by this device to maintain tire pressure and fuel economy. If you buy this gadget be patient with it. Trying to pump an auto tire from 31 to 35 psi takes about five minutes. This would not be bad except that you are not supposed to run the device for more than 15 minutes at a time or you can damage it. I am lucky to have an indoor garage to work in. I can imagine what it might be like to try to use this outdoors in the winter. It does what it claims to do, but is very slow to do it.
Not that great,

I tried using this product to fill up an inflatable pool and after 15 minutes, decided to blow up the pool myself instead. I don't know what the product claims are, but I suspect it may be better used for topping off tires or other objects that require high PSI, but not a lot of volume. It comes with adapters that suggest you could use it on inflatables, but simply takes too long.
junk,

DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK! The cigarette lighter plug disintegrated the first time it was used. I'm glad I tested it in my garage before I actually needed it.
Weak product that was overheated / destroyed after 10 minutes.,

If you have a small car that requires ~32-34 lb of pressure or lower, then you might be able to use this a few times before it breaks, but dont expect to hook it up to a larger 16in truck tire and have a compressor left in the end. Very Low quality. It got so hot trying to raise my van tire from 24 to 40lb it burnt out the compressor cylinder and the plastic case that surrounds it. Unless you just neeed something cheap and disposable, which I don't recommend, buy something a bit larger and sturdier.
