not yet proven to be the "ultimate hose nozzle" . . .,

The sky high ratings intrigued me, so when the Bon-Aire "ultimate" nozzle was available as a Lightning Deal, I bought one to see if it lived up to the hype.
The product appears to be very well constructed, and is quite a bit larger and heavier, than your typical cheapo nozzle. You adjust the flow of water by turning the spray head at the front. Water flow can be cut off at either end of the range, as the flow pattern goes from off, to a gentle sprinkle, to wide spray, and then narrowing into a beam, and then off again. Because of the larger sized head, the "ultimate" nozzle has a larger area of coverage, and can deliver a larger volume of water.
The nozzle does a decent job of diffusing water flow, producing a nice gentle flowing fountain of water suitable for watering potted plants or delicate flowers. When adjusted more to a spray, it is well suited for vegetable gardens and general use. This is however, nothing unique as far as sprinkler nozzles go.
Fully open, the front aperture is about 0.12 inches in diameter, which produces a thicker stream of water than your typical cheapo nozzle. Sometimes a thick stream is advantageous, but you will be using more water, and the increased water pressure may stress your plumbing. Unless your system has high volume, and good water pressure, you may not be able to take full advantage this nozzle.
The nozzle appears to be solidly built, and seems to work as advertised. Unfortunately the aluminum parts on mine have a reddish finish, rather than green, which looks cooler. Although it can deliver a higher volume of water, the assertion that it is the "ultimate" is perhaps an overstatement. It does a good job, but not that much better than the various cheapo nozzles and spray guns. The economy models typically don't last very long, so if "the ultimate" proves to be durable, it might be worth the premium cost. It's a bit heavy, and encourages using more water, so at this point I like it more than love it.

All and all,the best hose nozzle I have used but still not ideal. I guess the water pressure at my house isn't what it takes to get the hose nozzle to perform up to it's capability. I can't fault the nozzle for that. It is well made and it does perform adequately considering my water pressure isn't sufficient to perform like at the home show and definitly not worth the $30 that these pitchmen at the home show were generally charging especialy in view of the fact that Amazon is only charging just over half of the msrp. So my bottom line would be to a potential buyer of the ultimate hose nozzle is if you are considering the ultimate hose nozzle primarily for the performance as advertised and like what is demonstrated on the internet you better have enough water pressure. I had seen this nozzle demonstrated at a local home and garden show over the past few years and was intrigued. I got tired of buying the junk at the local home improvement store and then throwing them away after one (or less)season. I was very much impressed with the performance on this nozzle at the show, the pressure of the water comming out of this nozzle was amazing. I just couldn't justify spending thirty for a hose nozzle even the ultimate hose nozzle. I ended up getting it for about twenty bucks because it was a slow night. When I got home that night I was curious to see if this sight was selling this nozzle and lo and behold they were and for only $about seventeen!! I read a number of the glowing reviews but a couple caught my eye more than the others and those were the one's that said you better have adequate water pressure to get the performance like what is demonstrated at the various shows. Even though it was only in the low 30's outside I turned on the outside faucet and hooked up my 30 foothose attached the ultimate hose nozzle and fired her up. I was dissappointed I must say in the performance of the nozzle as I was expecting this great high pressure stream of water to come gushing forth like what I had seen at the home show. Not. I figured maybe the quick disconnects were restricting the flow so I removed them...no difference. Maybe the 30' hose was impeding the pressure so I attached the ultimate hose nozzle directly to the outside faucet with only a little improvement. So

I purchased this nozzle last summer and like it so much that I just purchased a second one so I don't have to keep switching it from the front yard hose to the back. The first one I received was black with green metal and the second one I received was black with blue metal. At first I wasn't sure if it was the same model, but it is...the description on this page even states "colors may vary".
Although the nozzle is not labeled in any way (except to show that "off" can be accomplished by turning either direction) it is highly adjustable with only slight twists of the nozzle. I enjoy being able to easily adjust the spray with the thumb and forefinger of the hand that is holding the nozzle.
Somewhat expensive, but worth it, in my opinion!

My husband loves it, it made washing the truck easy. Only thing he didn't like, but will just have to get over it, is the fact hehad to turn it off instead ofjust letting go. Ibought 3 so we're well covered on all hoses.

If you want a full spectrum water pattern nozzle, buy this one. High pressure stream (for clearing wasp nests, etc) is extrodinary.
