Nicest small compressor I've had.,
by DMC, 2010-07-03
Not too loud, plenty of cord and air line, airs up tires quickly, what more can you ask for.
Needs amperage to run,
by RodW, 2010-06-23
Works great when plugged in to my truck lighter outlet. However, it does not work when plugged in to an ac to dc converter (with 12v @ 4.1 Amp). I sent two of these units back after only trying to use them in the converter. Was going to send back the third unit until I tried it in the truck lighter outlet. If unit isn't getting enough amperage it just sputters until it is bumped. Then it will run but sputter out at low air pressures (15 to 20 psi).
Good product,

Seems a little slow in filling my car tire. Not a bad product though. I haven't tested it on anything else yet.
Good Performance But Short Life,
by L. O'Meally, 2010-06-15
As many others have said, this compressor uses more current than the average cigarette lighter socket can handle. However, with proper fusing, it works as advertised, is fairy quiet and inflates tires quickly. Unfortunately, after an estimated total of 45 minutes of intermittent use on my sedan, the pump's connecting rod bearing shaft broke away from the counterbalance and the unit is now useless. The failure occured at 32 P.S.I. while inflating a tire.
Not for Smaller Cars,

PROS
1. Well-built
2. Durable
3. Quiet (makes kind of a grumble sound when pumping)
CONS
1. Blows fuses in many vehicles
2. Unnecessarily long hose
3. No household plug
This pump is nicely-built and quiet, but blows fuses and has too long of a hose.
Note that the box on this product titles this product for Trucks and SUVs. I used this pump with a 1990 Miata, and it blew three fuses during the process of maintaining four tires. The fuses it broke were in the car, not the pump, so I had to go through the trouble of replacing fuses in my car.
The hose is unnecessarily long. To use the pump, the long hose has to be attached. It takes up space in the car when a shorter hose would work just fine. I think the pressurizing of the long hose has a lot do with why this pump blows fuses.
If I were to design the next model for this pump, I would add an optional shorter hose and an output plug. A household plug would add a lot of use to the long hose; you could double this product as an inexpensive compressor and use it around the workshop and for cleaning things like desktop computers.
